Therme Group will expand its global footprint with waterfront development in Toronto


Global wellness organization Therme Group today announced plans to create a C $ 350 million (€ 236.3 million, 201, £ 8million, US $ 280.8million) in Toronto, Canada, at Ontario Place.

Therme Canada Ontario Place will be a family experience with indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides and a wave pool, natural areas to relax, sports performance and recovery services and botanical gardens.

In collaboration with the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto, the group will help revitalize Ontario Place, advancing Therme Group’s vision of bringing well-being to all.

Programming will include fun and healthy activities for all ages and affordable wellness therapies to meet all needs. Healthy and sustainably produced food will also be available to customers.

It is estimated that construction of the site will take 24 months, once the approval and permit process is complete.

Dr Robert Hanea, CEO of Therme Group, said: “Therme is a unique experience in all seasons: it is a natural urban oasis where people can have fun, relax and unwind after their busy life, enhancing as well as their physical and mental health.

“Bringing this offer both to the UK with Therme Manchester, and now to Canada with Therme Canada | Ontario Place, will take us further on our journey to bring well-being to all.

“Through technology and community engagement, Therme Group and our partners will add a new architectural landmark to these cities, while enhancing the well-being of the local community it serves.”

Ontario Place has always been a destination for recreation, entertainment and recreation.

Therme CanadaOntario Place will continue and enhance these traditions with the planned creation of more than eight acres of public space, including a free access public beach, parks, a canoe boat launch and the realignment of the Martin Goodman trail.

Therme Canada Ontario Place is expected to create more than 2,200 construction jobs, 800 permanent full-time positions and attract over 1.6 million visitors to Ontario Place each year, thereby supporting the city’s tourism sectors and province and post-pandemic recovery.
