Organizers of Manchester;in mind promise a full evening of entertainment on August 17, with an independent art market held on The Oast House’s huge outdoor terrace and live music provided by local talent.
Hosted by the Manchester drag artist Poppy Laha fashion show will then take place at 7 p.m., which will see the next generation Manchester-based designers and fashion graduates present an exclusive first look at their latest designs on the runway.
Celebrating the distinctive trends seen in some of Manchester’s most stylish areas, the fashion show will be split into three themes – spinning fields, North district and canal street – with the designers showcasing creative looks themed around each area.
After the parade, the live music will continue into the evening on the terrace of The Oast House.
Manchester;inMind is produced by YourCity;inMind, an organization created by friends Phoebe Williams and Eliot Riley following the death of their late friend Luke O’Hanlon, who sadly took his own life in 2018 aged 20 . The couple wanted to educate the younger generation about mental health issues while raising funds for the mental health charity, Mind, in a festive way.
The event is also hosted by Mark Harrison, Track Manager, and Jj Garcia-Whippey, Branding Manager. Providing a platform for new and independent talent, all models, DJs, photographers and volunteers involved in the event are Manchester-based creatives.
Tickets for the first release are available to buy online now and cost £10which gives access to the whole event, including the art market, concerts, a seat at the fashion show and a free drink on arrival.
VIP tickets are priced at £25 and gift an exclusive front row seat at the event, along with a bag of goodies from local businesses, including beauty essentials from Beauty Bay, health and wellness products and more.
Previous YourCity;inMind events, held in Leeds and Sheffield in 2018, sold out immediately – so we advise getting tickets early! Local independent traders still have a chance to get involved in the event and should contact Phoebe Williams at [email protected] for details.
