Kidstown will be the heart of the CACM with a Corn Climber, a two-story structure for children to explore; a belvedere at the top of the climber from where children can see the whole museum; an air cannon and a slide for the youngest.

The Columbus Area Children’s Museum board meets Friday afternoon at Parkway Plaza, 4471 41st Ave., in Columbus. Museum officials contact local businesses to seek sponsors for the exhibits.

As for the second floor, visitors will be able to enjoy several water activities, a section on energy and infrastructure for children to learn things like the efficient construction of a windmill and a multipurpose room.

In addition, a playground is planned outside the building.

“What’s included in the schematic phase is getting people to help develop the museum, the exhibits themselves,” Kacena said. “This is why we are currently looking for partners in the community to represent the community within the library. “

The museum has “Columbus area” in its name as it also caters to communities outside the city limits of Columbus, and board members also contact businesses in neighboring areas.

“The great thing that we kind of want is if there are people who are part of a company or if they are interested in becoming a sponsor, they can contact us. We can arrange a meeting with them, ”said Nikki Behle, vice-chair of the ACCM board.

General donations are also accepted. The CACM is still in the process of creating an official website and email addresses, but those interested can contact the museum on the Columbus Area Children’s Museum’s Facebook page.
