The 2022 International Folk Art Market is looking for volunteers

SANTA FE — The 18thand The International Folk Art Market (IFAM) will welcome artists and guests to Museum Hill in Santa Fe, July 6-10, and more than 1,800 volunteers from across the country will help bring this year’s event to life. .

IFAM management plans to welcome around 16,000 visitors this year; an increase from 9,000 in 2021 (due to COVID restrictions). In addition to the visitors, more than 150 artists, from 49 different countries, will exhibit and sell their creations from all over the world.

“We look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to Museum Hill again this year. Our team is focused on providing a superior experience for all IFAM attendees and we realize how integral volunteers are to this process,” said Francesca Glaspell, Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator of the IFAM.

Returning volunteers began registering in March, but new volunteers will be able to register starting at 5 p.m. MDT, April 13, through a separate online form. There are over 30 volunteer teams to choose from, all catering to a variety of interests and talents. Categories of volunteer teams available include: Production, Cashiers, Reception and Market Hosts, Market Signs, Market Hosts, Performers, Handymen and many more. Along with the traditional roles at the July event, organizers are also looking for help in June at the Dallas Market Center, where a group of artists and IFAM employees will travel to promote the Santa Fe market. and exhibit the work of artists.

Volunteers looking for a new experience this year should check out the Night Market. Night Market is new to IFAM and is a lively 3-hour event held on Saturday July 9, featuring music and shopping from around the world.

While most volunteers are local, every year IFAM welcomes volunteers from all over the country. Volunteers receive a name badge and a free t-shirt, have access to the volunteer welcome tent and volunteer parking shuttle, and the entrance to the market.
