Southwest Airlines Donates $ 150,000 to Disaster Relief Organizations
DALLAS, September 1, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Southwest Airlines Company. (NYSE: LUV) today announced a donation of $ 150,000 to its national disaster relief partners, the American Red Cross, Feeding America®, and the Rubicon team. This financial commitment is fulfilled through Southwest Airlines® Foundation, a corporate fund within the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
Southwest Airlines is pleased to partner with the American Red Cross, Feeding America and Team Rubicon each year to support efforts focused on preparedness, response and resilience. The carrier provides a $ 50,000 grant to each of these organizations, to assist with relief operations following recent refugee resettlements, forest fires, earthquakes and tropical storms, including the most recent, Hurricane Ida.
In an effort to provide the highest level of support to the community, Southwest invites its customers and employees to join these relief efforts through its Quick Rewards.® promotion of points in progress today, September 1, 2021, through October 4, 2021. Rapid Rewards members who donate at least 25 $ to the American Red Cross, Feed America, Where Team Rubicon, will receive 20 Rapid Rewards points for every dollar donated *.
