The Monroe County Public Library offers local residents the chance to read, learn, connect and create. The main library is located at 303 E. Kirkwood Ave. and the Ellettsville branch is at 600 W. Temperance St. All events are free. Funding for the event is provided by the Friends of the Library Foundation.

Story time and the discovery of preschool

In preschool story time, stories, songs and nursery rhymes inspire your child to talk, sing and play with books and words, followed by Preschool Discovery – fun and open art experiences, STEAM adventures and the letter exploration. Prenatal yoga

Prenatal yoga is a gentle exercise that responds to your body’s changing needs, builds strength, and deepens awareness of your mind, body, and connection with your baby. It is 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Meeting Room B in Ellettsville or 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Children’s Program Room in the Main Library. Please register at

Sensory play time

Preschool Story Time

Miniature Painting 101: Hero Figures

The library provides figurines, paints, brushes and know-how, come and learn about miniature painting! All skill levels are welcome. For 12-19 year olds. It is 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the teenage area on the main floor of the main library. Come in.

Make your own needle felt furry creature to take home! 12-19 years old. It’s 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the teenage area on the main floor of the main library. Come in.

VITAL English conversation groups

New English speakers practice their language skills in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, enjoy friendly conversation, learn about daily life in the United States, gain confidence and meet new people from all over the world. It is 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday or 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the VITAL classroom in the main library. Wonderful 1 and wonderful 2

Families with children from infants to 3 years old can play, sing, read and talk with other toddlers – so enjoy toy time! It is 9:30 am-10:15 am (birth-18 months) and 10:30 am-11:15 am (18 months-3 years old) Wednesday in the children’s program room in the main library. Register at

Enter, venture into fantastic realms, then set off whenever you want! These Dungeons and Dragons sessions are designed to be short, fun, and scalable adventures that anyone can play.
