Organizations in the city of Imlay support The Rainbow Connection

CITY IMLAY – The Imlay City Fire Department, the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Imlay City and the Eastern Michigan State Fair Board of Directors have teamed up to donate $ 8,869.70 to The Rainbow Connection, a Michigan-based nonprofit that makes the wishes of living children come true. threatening medical conditions and provides support to their families.

Finn Woodworth, son of Allen and Jessica Woodworth of North Branch, was the inspiration for the donation. Finn has been diagnosed with leukemia and it is his dream to meet Micky Mouse.

He and his family are going to Disney World thanks to The Rainbow Connection.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles portion of Wednesday’s check donation came through tips given to them at the Beer Tent at the Eastern Michigan State Fair. The fire department portion was from an evening of their “Pass the Boot” collections at the Fair’s grandstand events.

Fair Director Ian Kempf said: “We connected to Rainbow Connection through Finn. The Fair Board has determined that if the Rainbow Connection does this for Finn and his family, we’re going to do something for the Rainbow Connection.
