The Krasl Art Center in Saint-Joseph has announced that its summer art market will be held from July to September. Krasl tells us more:
Soak up the sun, sculpt, and support small town artists with the Krasl Art Center (KAC) this summer! The Summer Art Market on the Green showcases 11 different regional artists at four free outdoor community events. It is held in conjunction with the St. Joe Today Lake Bluff Craft Fair on June 4, July 16, August 20, and September 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Purchases made directly support the artists and guests are encouraged to explore KAC’s gallery exhibits inside and public sculptures placed throughout the community when visiting. These events are proudly sponsored by Sturgis Bank.
Summer Art Market events take place June 4, July 16, August 20, and September 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on KAC’s outdoor campus. Tents will be displayed on KAC’s Oval Lawn, Shady Plaza and Patio, selling handmade artwork ranging from $15 to $250. Guests are encouraged to check out even more artists, local farmers and bakers at the St. Joe Farmers Market and Artisan Fair in Lake Bluff Park during the event.
The artists are all from Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana and will be shared on Facebook, Instagram and at //krasl.org/events/art-market/
KAC offers indoor and outdoor exhibits during the event. Explore Rethinking Monuments: American Sculpture in its Time, 1850-200 through August 28, and Family Dinner: The Deep Connection of American Lived Experience opening September 3 at The Gallery. The Art of Eggprize is on view in The Lab until July 25, with more exciting exhibitions to be announced.
KAC’s main grounds feature six installations in addition to Rising Crossing Tides, Richard Hunt’s monumental sculpture that welcomes you to campus. Explore sculpture as part of KAC’s new Biennial: 2022 Invitational on sculpture blocks. Thomas Freier’s Art Dome sculpture and outdoor studio installation will be displayed in KAC’s East Garden, dedicated to the memory of Lupe Hopp and sponsored by the Daniel F. Hopp family and Horizion Bank.
KAC is free and open to the public Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
