LONDON – WPP’s specialist tech agency AxiCom has launched a sports technology division after being named by sportswear start-up Prevayl and other industry brands. The division is currently overseen by MD Rosie Bannister with support from the Consumer Tech team, with plans to hire a dedicated Sports Tech manager.
LONDON – Finn Partners has been appointed to promote the islands of the Bahamas in the UK by the country’s Department of Tourism, Investment and Aviation. The UK Travel Team Office will operate as an agency hub, managing other European markets with a dossier that includes consumer and trade media relations, creative campaigns, broadcast tours, events, influencer support and crisis communications. The agency is also responsible for promoting the Bahamas in the UK, including its culture, history, recreation, nature and food.
LONDON – Clarity Global has become the chosen agency for the Staffbase employee communication platform. Clarity’s mission is to increase brand awareness in the UK to enable Staffbase to empower more leaders and communicators to drive transformation through internal communications. Staffbase customers include Adidas, Audi, DHL, and BrewDog.
LONDON – ING Media has won two bids for the COP26 climate change summit next month. The agency has been appointed by the UK Green Building Council as a communications partner for ‘Build Better Now’, the virtual pavilion for the built environment of COP26 (pictured), including social media, digital optimization , media relations and strategy and content creation. The agency is also advising the host city of Glasgow in the run-up to the event, including promoting the council’s portfolio of climate investment projects “Greenprint for Investment”.
LONDON – British manufacturer Lifestory has appointed Instinctif Partners as its corporate communications company following a call for tenders. Lifestory was formed in 2019 as a result of the merger of independent living specialists PegasusLife and Renaissance Retirement with open market housing provider Anthology, creating a business with over 2,500 homes across the UK , valued at over £ 1.5 billion. Instinctif’s mandate is to showcase the Lifestory brand among potential clients, reinforcing its commitment to creating high quality homes and inclusive communities across the country. The Instinctive team is led by Kaylene Oliveira, General Manager and Campaign.
LONDON – Sunny Side Up has been named by ParkPlay, a new initiative supported by Sport England to get people moving more. The agency’s mandate is to raise awareness and understanding of ParkPlay, help recruit PlayLeaders and recruit more people to participate across the country. ParkPlay launched in the spring and is aimed at people who may not appreciate traditional, organized sports and sports clubs.
LONDON – Football culture and media brand COPA90, which reaches more than 70 million football fans worldwide each month, has appointed the public relations agency MatchFit as the public relations agency until 2022. MatchFit will lead COPA90’s strategic communication, with the mission of presenting the brand’s position as a spokesperson for football fans in the professional and mainstream media. COPA90’s offering has evolved to include research, strategic consulting, creative services, production and live experiences with clients such as Pepsi, Budweiser and TikTok. HAMPSHIRE, UK – Jargon PR has acquired GloHouse Media, a public relations and technical content specialist, for its third acquisition in the past 12 months. GloHouse Media provides communications strategy, technical content, public relations, marketing, multimedia, social media and lead generation services for the industrial automation of the process and packaging markets (including vision and robotics) and renewable biogas energy markets. GloHouse will be integrated as a specialized division of Jargon PR, following the acquisition of Vantage Marketing in November 2020 and Souter PR in June 2021.
LONDON – The PHA Group was named by global food recipe box brand Feast Box and its sister company Red Rickshaw, the global online grocer of ingredients. Both companies aim to educate UK consumers about genuine ingredients and products from around the world. The PHA Group has a consumer, corporate and influencer brief to promote brands.
LONDON – At its first face-to-face awards ceremony since February 2020, the PRCA announced last week the winners of its Dare Awards, which recognize campaigns, agencies and internal teams from all regions from the United Kingdom. Hard Numbers was named New Consultant of the Year; Brand & Reputation was the tip of the year; Cardiff-based Cowshed took home the Middle Council of the Year award and Smarts was named the Great Council of the Year. Other winners included Weber Shandwick, Brazen, PR Agency One, Big Wave PR, Lynn PR and Hot Tin Roof PR.
