Dominique Ansel opens a new workshop dedicated to breakfast pastries


Award-winning pastry chef James Beard, Dominique Ansel, continues to impact the world of baking with his innovation. He is the source of famous creations such as Cronut, Cookie Shot and Blossoming Hot Chocolate.

Ansel adds to his list of businesses with the opening of Dominique Ansel Workshop, a small store located in his commercial kitchen in New York City that serves pastries, including freshly baked breakfast pastries and decadent chocolate creations.

The menu offers a variety of croissants, including an olive oil croissant made with cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and a hint of rosemary and garlic. There’s also pains au chocolat, a honey-roasted peach Danish, and a breakfast croissant sandwich with a French omelet stuffed with Boursin (French cream cheese with herbs and chives).

“I grew up in French kitchens making pastries. For me, it is an art to work on fermentation, different doughs, flour, butters, ”says Dominique Ansel. French. “I love working with live products like that, and I love eating good pastries!

The Dominique Ansel workshop will specialize for now only in pastry, but Ansel should present its first range of chocolates later.
