Charles Bronson to invest in Bitcoin with crypto-art sale and wants Elon Musk to buy one

Britain’s most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson is set to auction a limited number of his works as NFTs (non-fungible tokens) in the crypto-art market, and he dreams of selling a day one of his works to billionaire Elon Musk.

An NFT – in relatively simple terms – is a kind of unique digital certificate that is verified through blockchain technology.

The pieces that are to be sold have been recreated from original pieces of Charlie’s artwork, which are to be burned, meaning that the digital NFT will be the only version of the art in existence.

Of course, Bronson is in jail and was not allowed to use a computer during that time, but he has a team of people outside – including his son, George Bamby – who are set to auction. six of his pieces. , hoping to raise around £ 1.5million for Bronson.

It is not a pipe dream either.

Bronson previously sold some of his art – along with a bloodstained thumbprint – for £ 545,000 to a Jersey-based private collector in 2017.

So the market is there.

When the coins go on sale next Tuesday, they will be the first work of art ever sold by a prisoner to touch the crypto-art world, so interest in them is expected to be high.

Bronson is said to have developed an interest in both cryptocurrency and Musk while reading and watching TV in prison, and his son believes the fact that he hasn’t used real currency in decades has stoked his affection. for the sometimes confusing world of Bitcoin.

Bamby explained, “There has never been a prisoner in the UK, America or anywhere else who has sold any of his digitized artwork on a cryptocurrency platform.

“Charlie loves all this cryptocurrency stuff, and when it comes out he’s going to invest a lot in Bitcoin and stuff.

“The point is, he’s never seen money in 47 years, so basically he understands more about cryptocurrency than real money.”

He continued, “He’s just reading newspapers and a lot of other stuff, and he’s seen this Bitcoin thing get absolutely mental and he wants a piece of it.

“Obviously his work is his life and what he wants to do, so his dream is to have one of his digital works belong to Elon Musk.

“In the end, he would like the richest man in the world to have a work of his art.”

So if you read Elon, you will have the chance to bid on Charlie’s work in less than six days.

The link to bid on the artwork will be posted on Tuesday April 20 on the Inloop Digital website.
